Community

The Charity is firmly rooted in the heart of the community known locally as ‘West Central Halifax’. Our Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre, our Jubilee Children’s Centre and at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, are right in the centre of that area. Having a strong community base links us to 1000’s of local service users. It is a great advantage and makes those who are often classified as ‘hard to reach’ very reachable for us.

Whether it be people looking for jobs, for learning, for support whilst bringing up their families or help with starting or growing their business, we understand community needs and know how to respond to them. For an organisation like ours, governed and managed mostly by people who are also part of the community, this all comes very easily.

We don’t do everything our selves and we would never believe that we could. Here are just a few of the organisations we work in partnership with and support:

Himmat is a locally based social enterprise that works with schools and directly with young people to raise education attainment.

Central Halifax Community Initiative
Central Halifax Community Initiative is a local authority run Neighbourhood Management Initiative linking local authority services into the heart of the community and providing support for community development.
