Halifax Opportunities Trust

Halifax Opportunities Trust is a registered Charity.

The Charity was established in 2000 to continue some of the activities of the government funded West Central Halifax Partnership when it came to an end in 2002.  It was established to help open up opportunities for people living in the Park Ward area where the Charity had its ‘heart’.  Practically this has meant helping people to find new or better jobs, to learn new skills, to start or grow businesses or to help raise their young families.

As time has gone on and the Charity has grown and strengthened and it has started to work in partnership with other local community groups and organisations in the wider Calderdale area sharing  knowledge and skills with a view to making us and them stronger.

The Charity remains committed to its core objectives outlined in its memorandum and articles of association.

Halifax Opportunities Trust is a social enterprise so it delivers commercial contracts and pursues business opportunities as a way of achieving its goals.  This way of working means the organisation doesn’t have to rely on donations and grants.   Halifax Opportunities Trust is community owned and lead and is proud to be an active member of the Development Trusts Association.
